Cemetery records in the Małopolska Digital Library - MBC

As part of cooperation with the Municipal Cemetery Board, the Provincial Public Library in Krakow received digital copies of valuable manuscripts, which create books and journals of the deceased together with personal data indexes. They are a part of the extensive collection of manuscripts that the MCB has.

The donated collection mainly covers the chronology of the deceased in the 2nd half of the 19th century buried in Rakowicki cemetery. At that time, many prominent citizens of Krakow were buried here, i.e. Jan Matejko. The tombs of the Estreicher, Kossak and Ingarden families were also built.

Editors from the Małopolska Digital Library PPL prepared the digital items received for publication on the Internet. They subjected them to graphic processing, digital optimisation and prepared metadata.

The books complement the concepts that accompanied the creation of the MDL and emphasise its character, indicating that we do not limit ourselves only to the press, but also include other collections related to Krakow and Małopolska.
